Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that Saturday`s Premier League clash between Blackpool and Wigan Athletic at Bloomfield Road will end in a home win for Blackpool, let`s see what his reasons are:
Blackpool v Wigan
This is a massive game for both sides. First and foremost, you would never have seen this as a Premier League fixture 10 years ago, which is testament to how far they have both come, but the outcome of this game will have a big say in who might be staying in the top flight for another season.
The way Blackpool play means Wigan will get chances, but the Latics' biggest problem is that they are far too sloppy at the back without being clinical enough at the other end.
Both sides will see this game as winnable, or certainly view it as a match they cannot afford to lose, but I think home advantage will tip things in Blackpool's favour.
Prediction: 2-1
If Lawro ever picks us to win a game I will be very worried, 2-0 Latics win.

I've since been very disappointed to realise (for a person in his position who should know better) that he cannot have looked properly at what is happening here this season, as he's been saying exactly the same this time round, too, not appreciating the huge strides that have been made this year in the performances (if not yet the goals - for me the only thing that isn't quite working yet).
In the end, just like others, I find that I'm dismissing his comments this season as just someone else who really has no idea (and makes no effort to find out) what this season's team is really like.
