Blackpool boss Ian Holloway was a little rattled by the buoyant Latics fans at the end of the game on Saturday, following a 3-1 away win at relegation rivals that pulled the club off the bottom of the table and out of the bottom three for the first time in weeks, Wigan Athletic travelling supporters could be forgiven for being a little jubilant.
The Latics fans gave the match a real party flavour with singing and chanting throughout, whilst the Latics gave the fans hope with a top quality display on the pitch that left Blackpool scratching their heads.
Holloway said 'you haven`t done nothing yet`, well we know better than anyone Ian that these situations usually go down to the wire, and we know we haven`t done nothing yet, but surely enjoying a cracking victory is what following a football team is all about.
Holloway, speaking about the blue and white travelling army said: "Their fans were singing, 'We are staying up`. Well, let`s wait and see because you haven`t done nothing yet, if you don`t mind me saying, you really ain`t.
"This division is frighteningly hard and we are finding that at the minute.
"I hope the Wigan fans are right. I hope they do stay up, and I hope we do as well and some other poor blighter goes down.
"But to chant that is a bit premature, if you ask me.
"Well done to them, they had a nice day. But let`s have a look at the end of the season. There are still five games to go."
Latics supporters weren`t the only thing to rile the Blackpool boss on Saturday, the operator of the giant screen at Bloomfield Road also got an ear bashing for showing the goals from Blackpool`s 4-0 opening day win at the DW Stadium, which Holloway reckons just helped motivate the Latics players
Holloway said: "The whole day was annoying for me because we put our goals against them on the screen before the game started. What are we doing?
"I think showing our goals wound them up. You just don`t need to do that.
"We have already had a word with whoever did that because it is just useless for me. You have to be respectful."
Just for you Ian
We are staying up!
