Everton roll into town at the weekend and with David Moyes` Toffees looking to finish off their season in style, the Latics will need to be at their best to get that sweet feeling come 5pm on Saturday.
Just one defeat in their last eight games have helped Everton reach the dizzy heights of 7th in the Premier League and they are hot on the heels of city rivals Liverpool as both are seeking Europa League qualification for next season.
With Tim Cahill coming back from an injury lay-off at just the wrong time for the Latics it is going to be a tough afternoon at the DW Stadium, but, Everton are not unbeatable, their early to mid-season form was shocking and we have more at stake than they do.
Maynor Figueroa should be re-instated at left back for the Latics following his two game suspension, giving the defence a more solid and familiar look about it, whatever your feelings on Steve Gohouri are, he isn`t a left back.
The Blackpool win appeared to sap something out of a few of our players, at Sunderland there were flat performances, especially from key players James McCarthy and Hugo Rodallega, with another weeks rest the sharpness will hopefully be back and we can get about Everton in the manner we have been playing prior to last Saturdays game.
The return of Cahill, if he does play, will need close attention and we`ll need Jimmy Mac at his best to track the runs, the young Scot could be pivotal to this game.

The stakes are enormous, a defeat would be crushing, but a win would elevate the team, the belief and the supporters ahead of the final three, it`s so important for the fans to get behind the lads to make the atmosphere banging and if we can get the three points off the Toffees, we will be left tasting the sweetest feeling![]()
