Lawro Predicts - Villa v Latics

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that Saturday`s Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic at Villa Park will end in a home win for Villa, no surprise there then, let`s see what his predictable reasons are:

Aston Villa v Wigan

Things are definitely looking up for Villa - six weeks ago people were predicting relegation for them, but they are starting to play well and manager Gerard Houllier is getting better too.

Wigan can't seem to string two results together. Their performances aren't ever that bad, but especially in away games they have 15-20 minute spells where they just implode.

I reckon Villa have enough matchwinners to edge it, and I'm afraid I think Wigan will go down.

Prediction: 2-1

Well, well, well, surprise, surprise, another game and another predicted defeat for the Latics, every week Lawro predicts our downfall and base`s his decision on the fact that we are inconsistent, strange really considering that we have only lost 2 games more than his beloved Liverpool, the Latics problem is that they are too consistent, consistently drawing games.

With either a bit more luck, a bit better finishing or a bit better refereeing we could have turned at least 4 of the FOURTEEN games drawn this season into wins, that would have us in mid-table and very safe.

Lawro talks about us being poor away, well we have won more points away from the DW than his beloved Liverpool have away from Anfield, we have conceded fewer goals away from home than we have at the DW and we have only scored 3 goals less on our travels than we have at home.

As for Saturday, we need the result, Villa are safe, we will be up for it, hopefully Villa will have their minds elsewhere, 1-2 Latics win.

Really wound me up this week, the guy has no idea of how we play

The day he predicts us to win will be the day we go down.

Who cares what he says. The game is on Saturday.

Every team could say, oooh if we'd have won this game and that game look where we'd be... the fact is you didn't unfortunately. I hear Villa fans saying exactly the same thing and its a stupid argument, facts are facts and the table doesn't lie. I actually think this will be a draw and can see Wigan escaping at the expense of Blackpool.

The arguement isnt about our league position but the fact that Lawro calls us inconsistent and a poor side week after week after week, we are anything but inconsistent and we do play good football, just cant finish games off, so end up drawing
worbo
Plus Valiant take a look at his predictions league compared with the real table: http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2010-11.html we have nearly 20 points more than he predicted...I am sure he does it on purpose just to wind me up, not that I'm paranoid or anything ;)

He was a *****er as a footballer and is *****er as a pundit. The fact is, he hasn't a clue. For thoses reasons, he's a poor pundit, because though others have favourites, they are less likely to show it. It's clear he's always bias to West Ham, but just as clear he does not like Wigan. When we have deserved praise on that Programme with his other two stooges, we don't get it. To anyone out there who doesn't like Wigan, or our support, just remember one thing. We are in the Premiership because we have earned the right to be there. Nothing more, nothing less.

hes a nazi plain and simple. snivelling moron. dont let it get to u though we will have the last laugh when we stay up (fingers crossed) also, i find most pundits to be tedious bores. if they knew that much about football wouldnt they be managers?
