Mauro Boselli Looking For Genoa Stay

Mauro Boselli is hoping to make his temporary move from Wigan Athletic to Genoa a permanent one when his loan period comes to an end at the Serie A club on 30th June.

Boselli hasn`t been in the best of form for either the Latics or Genoa this season, failing to score in 8 Premier League appearances and scoring just one goal in the Carling Cup for the Latics since his big money move from Argentina in the summer, the former Boca Juniors and Estudiantes man was shipped out on loan in January.

Failing to settle early on in Italy Boselli finally made his debut for Genoa on the 3rd March against Inter Milan scoring a consolation goal with the last kick of the game as Genoa lost 5-2.

Now Boselli`s agent, Jose Iribarren is claiming that the Argentina international is very settled in Italy and would love to stay, especially after the striker scored his second goal for Genoa on Sunday securing them victory in their derby game with city rivals Sampdoria.

Speaking to calciomercatoweb.it Iribarren said: 'Mauro has a contract with Genoa until 30th June, and the club has an option for take him definitively'

'Is the price set at €7million? It is a little less.

'Mauro would like to remain in Genoa, but right now I don't think there has been a meeting between the clubs.

'We hope that they buy him, because he is very happy with his team-mates, the club and the city.'

Boselli was delighted with his winning goal, he commented: 'It is a great sensation, I dedicate it to all these people, we wanted to win the derby to give joy to our fans and we did.'
