Press reports, well the Daily Mail, are suggesting that Serie A side, Juventus are lining up a £10 million bid for Charles N'Zogbia at the end of the season to challenge both Newcastle and Sunderland for the signature of the very talented Latics man.
All just regurgitated news from last season, just waiting for Marseille and Birmingham to join the chase now and the Mail will have a full house of old news hitting the back pages one more time.
It is unquestionable that clubs will be monitoring the situation with N'Zogbia, he is one of most exciting players outside the top four clubs in the Premier League, he is soon to be entering the final year of his contract, that's when players tend to move on, and of course the Latics have a chance of losing their Premier League status.
Roberto Martinez though has different ideas, this week he's been quoted as saying he hopes to convince Charlie to stay at the club, that must be dependent on avoiding relegation, but why shouldn't N'Zogbia stay if it's going to be a seventh consecutive season of Premier League football at the DW Stadium?
The 24 year old has enjoyed his best football with the Latics, he has blossomed under the freedom asserted to him by Martinez, he has taken responsibility on the pitch, even captaining the side earlier in the season and he is a lot less 'le sulk' and a lot more 'le smile' at Wigan.
Whatever happens with Charlie I suppose will be down to the player himself, he is a very intelligent young man who knows how he wants his career to progress, here's hoping that he wants to take it forward with the Latics for a couple of more seasons at least.
'Le Smile' as broad as the Leeds/Liverpool canal
