Cleverley Hoping For A Sweet Farewell

Tom Cleverley will be playing his last game for Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium this Sunday with his loan period due to end after the end of the season.

The young midfield man has had a good season with the Latics, getting on the score sheet with four goals and making 23 appearances so far, he has certainly gained some experience to take back to Old Trafford with him.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post Cleverley says that he has really enjoyed his time at the Latics and hopes he can give the fans a perfect send off by helping to keep the Latics in the Premier League.

Cleverley said: "It`s my last game at the DW, and I`m looking to go out on a high, I`ve saved the biggest game of all for my last game here, and hopefully I can give the fans something to remember me by.

"I`ve really enjoyed my time here - the decision to come has been vindicated.

"I`ve learned a lot working under such a good manager and staff, and I`ve gained some valuable experience that will help my future career at Manchester United.

"It has crossed my mind that I scored my first Premier League goal at Upton Park, and I also won us a penalty that day, which unfortunately we missed.

"Hopefully I can be as effective this weekend and help us get the three points."

"A win and a draw from our last two games would give us 40 points, and you`d have to be massively unlucky to go down with that"

"All we can do is go out and try to win the last two matches - that`s all we can do. But it`s any three from six teams.

"We`ve just got to hope one of them`s not us - and I think we have the players to ensure we won`t be."

Just glad we got him in the first place, another good signing and well done to RM for seeing the potential in him. Hope he does well at UTD

I don't believe Ferggy has even thought about where Ceverley will be next season. Bob has said he would like him for a bit longer, so when we stay up, I think we could have him for at least till next Jan.

well we all though Zog would be gone last season so never say never.
