Have Your Say - My Take On Last Week

Have Your Say - My Take On Last Week

Vital Latics member Carl Davies, better known on the Latics Speyk forum as pienpeys, gives us his thoughts on that dramatic game, over to you pienpeys:

I don`t know where to start on this one. I`m still under the euphoria of Sunday`s victory and can`t stop watching the highlights, youtube, Millwall fans etc.

What an unbelievable day that was, in 30 years of supporting Wigan Athletic that`s the most excited I have ever been. I was falling all over the place, everyone was just hugging and kissing each other and the players were unreal.

At 2-0 down, I went to the bar and was thinking about possible things to chant. One that I thought was a must, "Wigan Till I Die." I was just thinking of how I could still chant whilst being so upset.

But, when we got a free kick on the edge of the area and Charles got hold of the ball, everybody stood up more. I was on my tip toes almost knowing what was coming, then Charles produced another piece of magic and it was game on.

The double substitution by Roberto was terrific as you then knew we were going for it no matter what. That`s why Dave Whelan has kept faith, brilliant. Connor Sammon looked so hungry when he came on, he wanted it so much and boy did he take it, then we`re all in raptures.

Then for the final goal, it was like the first in the way you seemed to know what was coming. Charles got the ball, so it was back on tip toes and I was celebrating before he scored.

From that moment it was just ecstasy, I had to fight to hold back the tears of joy. The whole team gave 110% they were simply brilliant.

Now, we can turn our attention to Sunday. Obviously I`m worried, it`s like there are a few cup finals on the same day.

My only respite is I`m safe in the knowledge that if we perform to our best, we will win.
