Which Game Had The Biggest Buzz?

Which Game Had The Biggest Buzz?

Following such a dramatic end to the season and the feeling of euphoria when the final whistle went at the Britannia on Sunday led me to thinking about which (recent) Latics game has given me the biggest buzz.

What a good idea for a poll, so:

There are six main contenders for me from the past few seasons, these are:

The Latics 3-1 Reading game from May 2005, a massive occasion, a great performance and of course we won promotion to the Premier League as a result of the win, I was high off that game for all of the summer of 2005

The Sheffield United 1-2 Latics relegation decider of May 2007 was more of a relief than a buzz in reality, it was like a battle, the fight to avoid relegation and as they say in war there are no winners only losers, the feeling of rejoicing at someone else`s demise seemed a little unfair at the time.

Latics 3-1 Chelsea in September 2009 was an unbelievable game, we never beat the big sides, or so we thought, 100% Chelsea came to the DW Stadium and were thumped with a fantastic display from the Latics, but unfortunately that season we were so up and down and the thrill didn`t last too long

The great come back in the Latics 3-2 Arsenal game of April 2010 will take some beating, two late goals set the Latics up to beat the dreaded drop, though the next two do for me.

Last Sundays Stoke 0-1 Latics was just fantastic, listening out for the scores from the other games and the drama was almost too much to bear at times, the feeling after the game was simply superb and it was very emotional celebrating with all the players at the front of the away stand at the Britannia.

But my vote for the game with the biggest buzz goes to

Latics 3-2 West Ham completely unbelievable, dead and buried at half-time, in effect relegated, then to come back with the performance that we put in and scoring the winning goal with just 10 seconds left on the clock, took my breath away, just thinking about that game gives me goose bumps....still buzzing now

So it is Latics 3-2 West Ham for me, which one was your favourite, to vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, its that easy

The Reading game for me. That was the moment that the dream was realised, the moment we knew Whelan hadn't been kidding when he said Latics would be in the Premier League within 10 years. The moment we reached the promised land!
