Latics Best Ever Premier League Striker

Latics Best Ever Premier League Striker

Who`s the best Premier League striker to have worn the Wigan Athletic shirt?

Been thinking about this for a couple of days now and, how do you measure it? Number of goals scored, importance of goals scored, goals to games ratio, what he brought to the team, pace, power, ability with both feet, ability with his head? I`d say all of the above and more besides.

In the six full seasons that we`ve competed in the Premier League we have had quite a few strikers, Jason Roberts, Andreas Johansson, Henri Camara, David Connelly, Neil Mellor, Caleb Folan, Julius Aghahowa, Svetoslav Todorov, Emile Heskey, Marcus Bent, Marlon King, Antoine Sibierski, Olivier Kapo, Amr Zaki, Mido, Hugo Rodallega, Jason Scotland, Marcelo Moreno, Franco Di Santo, Mauro Boselli and Conor Sammon are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head, if I have missed anyone apologies, of those nineteen, five stand out for me.

Jason Roberts, Henri Camara, Emile Heskey, Amr Zaki and Hugo Rodallega.

Each of those five strikers made a big impact at the Latics during their time with us, Roberts scored our first Premier League goal, Camara our first Premier League hat-trick, Heskey our first player to be capped to play a competitive game for England, Amr Zaki set the Premier League on fire in his first three months at the club and of course Hugo Rodallega, our all time Premier League record goal scorer

All five have great attributes plus their own short comings, what I am trying to find out is who, we the supporters, consider to be the best striker that we`ve had in the Premier League. I know who I consider the best and why but I don`t want to influence in any way the vote, so I won`t be canvassing for my candidate.

Please consider who your personal favourite is out of the five listed and vote in the poll. To participate simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, its that easy.

Since she came in we've suffered 12 relegations and wasted £800m parachute payments on dross. I've met her once and she's very nice but we can't be sentimental about these decisions.
