Wigan Athletic - This Weeks Transfer Goss

Now the fixtures lists for next season have been released the transfer speculation somehow feels a little more substantial, though it probably isn't, anyway a look at the past week:

Angel Lafita is on the radar, his club, Real Zaragoza are entering administration and a fee of £1.2 million would be enough to bring the 6` 2" midfield man to the DW, 4 goals and 30 appearances in La Liga last season.

Youness Belhanda Montpellier midfield player, 21 years old and a Morocco international, strong speculation in France that the Latics have made an approach.

Francisco Medina Luna aka Piti 30 year old striker from Rayo Vallecano, the club that we got Diame from, apparently set to join on a free, seems unlikely.

Pablo Piati strongly linked to the Almeria winger for the third week in a row, nothing concrete but too many rumours to dismiss out of hand.

Albert Crusat another Almeria player and one we have been linked with previously, being reported in Spain that the Latics have been back in touch about Crusat's availability, very quick and good skills on the ball.

Mauro Boselli reported in various outlets that French club Nice want Mauro Boselli and also that his former club Estudiantes want him back, both at knock down prices.

Charles N'Zogbia take your pick from Newcastle, Sunderland, Liverpool, Everton or Spurs. My understanding is that he will be a Liverpool player before the end of the month even though Newcastle have reportedly offered the staggering amount of £4 million and Sunderland want to do a deal that involves Steed Malbranque!

Ali Al-Habsi as reported on Vital last Sunday the deal is all sewn up, £4 million plus add-ons, just waiting for Ali to return from a trip home to sign on the dotted line.

Mike Pollitt has been offered a one year extension and it is looking like he will stay on the playing staff as well as joining the coaching staff working with the young goalkeepers. Jason Koumas, Steven Caldwell, Daniel De Ridder, Joe Holt, Abian Serrano, Danny Lambert and Thomas Oakes have all been released.

Video Highlights - Wigan Athletic 0 Nottingham Forest 0

The action(?) from yesterday's game at the DW Stadium between Wigan Athletic and Nottingham Forest which ended goalless:

Report - Latics 0 Forest 0 - What A Shocker

Thirteen games to save our Championship status, first up a home game against Nottingham Forest who are on a shocking run of form, conceded 10 goals in their last three matches, three of their first choice defenders missing through injury, they had lost 11 of their 16 away games this season with a -16 goal difference on the road and sat just six points above us in the table, surely a game that we would set out to win.

Checking the team selection I felt slightly optimistic but slightly conf
