Latics To Face Villarreal At The DW Stadium

Wigan Athletic have announced that the BIG preseason friendly at the DW Stadium on August 7th will be against Champions League qualifiers from La Liga, Villarreal.

PRE SEASON PROGRAMME CONFIRMED

Villarreal and Preston head pre-season fixture list

Wigan Athletic have confirmed their pre-season friendly fixtures in the build up to the Barclays Premier League kick off against Norwich City on August 13th.

LATICS v VILLAREAL CF

DW Stadium, Sunday August 7, kick off 4.00pm
Tickets 10.00 adults, 5.00 Concessions

In manager Juan Carlos Garrido`s first season at the helm, the Spanish Champions League qualifiers finished in a highly creditable 4th place in La Liga last season behind only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia. El Submarino Amarillo (the Yellow Submarine!) will provide formidable opposition in the final pre-season match before the big kick off, the only one at the DW Stadium.

PRESTON NORTH END v LATICS

Deepdale, Sunday July 31, kick off 3.00pm

Latics will make the short trip to Deepdale to face Phil Brown`s side, relegated from the Championship last season, and looking to bounce back at the first attempt in 2011-12. Latics last played here two seasons ago, when Roberto Martinez`s men impressed in an emphatic 4-1 victory.

Any further games or pre-season announcements will be made here first on the official club website.
