Wigan Athletic - The Weeks Transfer Gossip

Another quiet week on the rumours and gossip front as far as Wigan Athletic are concerned, the first team are due back for the start of preseason on the 7th July, Thursday, which is a strange day to start the week, anyway with the players coming back there may be some incomings and outgoings to report by next week, but for now:

Shaun Wright-Phillips is being linked with the possibility of a move to the DW Stadium from Manchester City, with Latics owner Dave Whelan himself confirming the clubs interest: 'It's true that we are interested in Shaun Wright-Phillips... We would certainly like him to come to Wigan but we don't know what he wants in terms of wages. There is a long way to go, but Roberto does fancy bringing him to Wigan.'

We`ll wait and see on this one.

Hernán Pérez 22 year old defensive midfield player with Villarreal, Paraguay international and currently competing in the Copa America alongside Latics defender Antolin Alcaraz, media stories in Spain are suggesting that Pérez will be a Latics player very soon.

Guy Demel Hamburg and Ivory Coast right back who wants to move to the Premier League and has instructed his agent, Willie McKay, I know, to find him a club, a couple of sources say that club will be the Latics, the ex-Arsenal trainee has spent the bulk of his career in Germany, first with Borussia Dortmund and the past seven seasons at Hamburg.

Nacho Novo the ex-Rangers striker is linked with a move to the Premier League, currently playing for Sporting Gijon, Novo has been granted a free transfer if he can fix himself up with a club, 4 goals in 30 games for Gijon last season, sounds like our kind of striker but at 32 way too old for a Martinez signing.

Not a lot happening with regards to Ali Al-Habsi or Charles N`Zogbia this week should see some movement on one or both.
