Latics Set For Preseason Opener On Friday

Wigan Athletic are set for their first preseason test on Friday evening at 7pm when they take on Swedish side OFK Ostersund.

The Latics are using Ostersunds training facilities as the first part of a three stage fitness regime ahead of the new season, they arrived at the idyllic location on Monday and will head back to Wigan on Saturday morning after what promises to be a gruelling week, three sessions a day, gym work before breakfast, mid-morning and mid-afternoon sessions outside are set to test the players fitness levels.

OFK Ostersunds official website has details of the Latics routine whilst they are there and they announce that the game on Friday will be played at the Jämtkraft Arena with a 7pm (local time) kick-off.

Latics want away striker Mauro Boselli has also flown out to Sweden with the rest of the squad having only arrived back in the UK on Monday, Boselli is set for talks with boss Roberto Martinez over a possible move away from the DW Stadium with his former club Estudiantes a front runner to take him back.
