Wigan Athletic - The Weeks Transfer Gossip News

With the Latics being at their Swedish training camp for the past few days there have been no new additions or departures from the squad, but there has been some speculation.

Charles N`Zogbia looks set to move to Aston Villa, with Villa boss Alex McLeish given the go-ahead to spend the money received for Stewart Downing, the initial bid has apparently been rejected by the Latics, but the word is that it isn`t too far away from what Whelan and Martinez are after for their prize asset.

Antonio Amaya is about to join Real Betis for a fee of £300,000. The 28 year old never made the grade at the Latics and he was allowed to go on loan to Rayo Vallecano last season.

Nelson Valdez apparently Latics officials have been out to Spain to thrash out a deal for the Paraguay international striker, the Hercules player is currently competing in the Copa America for his country alongside Latics player Antolin Alcaraz.

Hugo Rodallega is a wanted man, apparently, the not too shy Colombia hot shot claims that a host of clubs are chasing his signature including Arsenal, Everton, Villarreal and Seville, it has been reported in various news outlets that Aston Villa would consider a joint bid for Hugo and Charlie.

David Jones former Wolves midfield man is currently training with the Latics in the hope of winning a deal, he was out in Sweden last week and will continue working with the first team squad under the eye of Roberto Martinez.

Daniel de Ridder left the club last week and signed for Grasshopper Club of Zurich, nobody noticed.

Angel Lafita, the Latics look set to win the race to sign the Real Zaragoza winger, reports in Spain claim that the Latics are ahead of Bolton, Fulham, Villarreal and Fenerbache

Mauro Boselli looks to be staying at the Latics, for the time being at least, his former club Estudiantes are reluctant to pay and the Latics wont give him away after splashing out big on him last summer, so for the moment he remains part of Martinez`s plans and he banged a great solo effort home in the first game of the preseason on Friday against Swedish club Ostersunds.

haha u welcome mate ;) OT: i think we need a left back as cover for Figgy, a box to box midfielder, a winger if N'Zogbia goes as expected, and finally a striker if Hugo goes :)

Latics v Wolves - Big Game Preview

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.

Gary Caldwell felt that his team were unlucky not to win the game at Preston on Friday never mind lose it, a wickedly deflected effort early on followed by some resolute defending kept the Latics at bay, but a failure to take two excellent chances was the downfall as we lost by the odd goal for the 7t
