Wigan Athletic Head Off To Camp Austria

Wigan Athletic have announced that they will be jetting off to Austria later this week for phase two of their preseason fitness regime following a successful five days in Sweden.

The Latics have also confirmed the two opponents that they will face whilst out in Austria, United Arab Emirates club Al Ain and Turkish Super League newcomers Mersin Idmanyurdo.

Speaking to the clubs official website Latics boss Roberto Martinez said: "Preseason is a time for the players to focus on the physical training side of the game.

"The players need to reach their peak physical condition for the start of the new season and everyone is focused on that right now"

"We like to try and vary the environments as much as we can to keep it fresh for the players and Austria is a unique place to go, where the clean mountain air and the altitude is very good for building fitness levels"
