Third Time Lucky For Villa With N'Zogbia Bid

Third Time Lucky For Villa With N'Zogbia Bid

Aston Villa are set to table their third offer for Wigan Athletic man Charles N'Zogbia after the Latics rejected a £9 million bid earlier this week.

Alex McLeish is desperate to land the France international and it is understood that the clubs have been negotiating over the past couple of days to get the fee thrashed out, though they weren't a million miles apart at the beginning of the week it looks like it will be third time lucky for Villa.

With N'Zogbia leaving there should be a few incomings at the DW Stadium with Latics owner Dave Whelan promising boss Roberto Martinez that he can have the full amount of the fee to fund his transfer targets.

I feel sorry for Wigan fans, you are a bit like us loosing some of your best players. Obviously as a Villa fan I hope the deal goes through, that is assuming Charles wants to come to us. COTVABU

He is too good for Villa but in 12 months time he will probably be considered too good for Villa. Sounds cynical but money talks - would love to see this deal come off though

Knowing us we will go 9.5 million out of spite. Just pay the 10 million they want - its a reasonable fee. We need a player of this calibre so lets get it done.

I don't know what Villa are Haggling for anything under 20 million is a bargain for a player to replace Downing, N'zogbia is as good as Downing if not better just look at his stats and if they are anything to go by N'zogbia is getting Better season by season, so pay up!

We dont need to cough up to Whelan's tune, Wigan are on their arse again and will probably be in a relegation battle from day one. Whelan agreed with the player to let him leave if a bid came in, it came in so now Whelan has to do the right thing instead of being a snake. Now Nzogbia is happy to go on strike to force a move and seen as we are the only club with money on the table Whelan would do well to except the bid and stop making himself look a fool

Chiefly, speaking of fools...you've based all that on what you've read in a newspaper that has made the whole thing up. N'Zogbia has vocally expressed his willingness to stay until next summer if needs be - after all he'd be a free and get a massive contract as a result. What source has the paper stated in their article about N'Zogbia's impending strike or about the fee that Whelan agreed he could leave for? I think you'll find it was all made up. Otherwise wouldnt we have been obligated to sell N'Zogbia in the January window for the 12million+ that Newcastle offered....and wouldnt Charlie have gone on strike when we refused. So for fools, I'd look at home first mate.

Dan's Big Game Report - Burton 0 Latics 2

Alright, so despite the hammyteur Twitter meteorologists' predictions, it never did snow in Burton upon Trent today.

But on Friday morning, the Met Office (presumably a wild new joint venture of the Metro newspaper and the Post Office) issued 'yellow warnings' of ice in Staffordshire. From this we can only assume that the county`s dog walkers embarked upon an unprecedented mass figure skating session producing gold medals you certainly don't want in your hands.

Oh, disregard
