Ronnie Stam Wants To Stay At The Latics

Ronnie Stam wants to stay at Wigan Athletic rather than go back to Holland says his agent, Chiel Dekker.

Last week there were reports that PSV Eindhoven had made an approach to the Latics wanting to take Stam back to the eredivisie on a season long loan, the former FC Twente wingback had an in and out season in his first at the DW, making just 17 Premier League starts, the majority of which came whilst Emmerson Boyce was out the side injured.

Dekker says Stam is happy to stay at the Latics for the time being at least because he wants to be in the Premier League, but he also says that if he doesn`t get much game time then going to PSV will be an option for consideration.

Speaking to NUSport Dekker said: 'It all depends on whether Ronnie will start playing again'

'If he gets a new chance and more minutes of play, then he is at the right place in Wigan.

'He wants to stay in the Premier League.

'If it looks like he will not be getting much playing time, then a transfer to PSV is an option. But it won't happen earlier than that.'

Not too sure on this, he brings an attacking otion to the team but defensively gets caught out, plus Boycey is much better

He scored that wonderful counter-attacking goal last season.

i think he still adds a dimension to the squad. it's nice to have him around.

He did indeed, kissed the badge and got booked for his celebration, he was on the left for that game, more midfield, with Gohouri at r/back
worbo
I really like Stam and if he gets his defence sorted he make a fantastic wing back!
