Latics In Front In SWP Chase

Wigan Athletic are favourites to land Manchester City and England winger Shaun Wright-Phillips despite interest in the former Chelsea man from both Bolton and Sunderland.

City have given permission to the Latics to speak to the 29 year old, who is believed to have already been involved in a training session with the Latics prior to City's participation in the Dublin Super Cup last weekend, to get a 'feel for the place'.

With Charles N'Zogbia leaving for Aston Villa there is a spot in the Latics side for an experienced wide man, Wright-Phillips just might fill that gap.

Goals, goals, goals, when will the penny drop? Last seasons top scorer has been sold and if we are to rely on Hugo to get goals then we need to pray Conor Sammon steps up to the plate. For all those Hugo fans out there let me say that his agent couldn't get anyone interested in him, not even after Hugo himself was putting it around that top clubs were all showing interest, not unlike last year I recall. Get that 9.5 mil spent on a proven goal scorer if one can be tempted to come.
longtom
swp up for sale but does any one think we have a realistic chance of signing him with bolton and sunderland in the runing with us

If we couldn't pay 60 grand a week wages for charlie, we certainly can't afford SWP 60 grand wages plus transfer fee.
