Vote For Your Latics Man of The Match v Villarreal

Wigan Athletic v Villarreal was a great workout for both sides, the Latics preseason warm-up games came to an end with the 1-0 win against their Spanish visitors and some good performances against a class side boded well for the new campaign.

Ali Al-Habsi played the first half and pulled off a couple of cracking stops to carry on just where he left off at the end of last season, just in front of Ali the back four looked comfortable, special mention must go to Adrian Lopez who slotted in like a hand in a glove, very accomplished display.

The midfield played well throughout the game, Ben Watson was the pick of the bunch whilst up front Victor Moses was again class.

My choice for man of the match is a toss-up between Moses and Watson, but for his overall performance, in my opinion Ben Watson just shaded it. So Watson for me but who was your Wigan Athletic man of the match?
