Wigan Athletic - New Kids On The Block

Wigan Athletic - New Kids On The Block

The Wigan Athletic mascot, Stripey the Laticat, has unfortunately been put out at night for the last time and there are now two new kids on the block.

Making their first showing at the home game against Villarreal last Sunday the two new mascots looked like they had stepped straight from a Japanese cartoon series, but they did look good, according to the two kids sat next to me anyway.

The new mascots are part of the 'Team Latics' club, aimed at encouraging the youngsters to get down to the DW Stadium on match days, which can't be a bad thing

As a cat lover I prefered Strippy The Laticat. Whether the kids like the cahnge would be interesting. Wonder if they were asked, or is it political to do with the new sponsers
