Wigan Athletic have announced their new squad numbers for the 2011/12 season, no number 7 or 10, left vacant for Shaun Wright-Phillips and Nelson Valdez? Maybe, well you can but dream.

I think the gaps are more a result of players sticking with their identity than coveting a certain shirt.
