Vote For Your Latics Man Of The Match v Norwich

Vote For Your Latics Man Of The Match v Norwich

Wigan Athletic may have left some supporters frustrated on Saturday with their opening day draw against Norwich City, but it is important to remember that early season games have a habit of doing this.

The Latics looked a class above Norwich and to a man the better team. Although they had a couple of shaky spells the back four looked able to cope adequately with the Canaries attack throughout the game, Maynor Figueroa in particular looked fresh and energetic, his runs forward to support the attack were a good feature of the Latics play.

In midfield Ben Watson again looked class, he has really started to expand his game, his passing is crisp, he constantly looks for the ball and he worked tirelessly for the team, he scored the opening goal through the penalty and almost snatched the win at the end when he was unfortunate to see an 18 yard effort crash back off the foot of the post, he even slotted in a centre back for a crazy 15 minutes whilst Adrian Lopez was getting his head injury patched up.

Franco Di Santo and Victor Moses also played well, Di Santo won the penalty and was full of running for the hour he was on the pitch, Moses was again excellent with his direct runs and pace.

For me the choice is between Maynor Figueroa, Ben Watson or Victor Moses, I'll plump for Watson due to his goal and all round performance both in supporting the attack and defence. Thats my choice but who was your man of the match
