Latics Return With Improved Odemwingie Bid

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Wigan Athletic are set to offer an increased bid, to West Brom for striker Peter Odemwingie after having their initial bid turned down

The original bid, thought to be in the region of £4 million, was described as 'laughable' by Baggies manager Roy Hodgson, but the Mirror are suggesting that the follow up bid is closer to £8 million and that might just wipe the smile off Hodgsons face.

The Latics are desperate to add quality to their strike force following the departure of Charles N'Zogbia, it would appear that Peter Odemwingie is the man identified by boss Roberto Martinez to fill the gap that N'Zogbia has left.

great addition but he's a bit too old for Martinez I would have thought. Maybe Dave fancies him quite a bit?

Roberto will be calling the shots. seems like this might be a protracted one ...or is it something to give the press as cover for another deal that's quietly going through ?

Dont worry, todays praise of Di Santo by Roberto suggest to me that he is about to declare a signing is not now required as he believes he has two goal machines in Di Santo and Hugo. Could well turn out to be a better duo than Morcambe and Wise, at least they will be as funny.
