Chimbonda Returns

Chimbonda Returns

Wigan Athletic defender Pascal Chimbonda will return to training on Monday following a break after the World Cup.

He will be holding talks with Paul Jewell to sort out his future ahead of the new season. There have been reports that Jewell is going to offer Chimbonda his third contract in 12 months to keep him at the JJB Stadium. Somehow I doubt if we will improve on the contract he signed a few months ago just to keep him at the club. Wigan have already rejected bids from Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United for

Chief Stirrer Willie McKay said: 'Pascal still wants to move on to a bigger club. I have spoken to Paul Jewell and he told me he is keen to keep Pascal and is ready to offer him a lucrative new
contract. I have informed Pascal of Wigan's offer, but he feels at this stage of his career it is not about new, improved contracts.

'Pascal knows that if he stays with Wigan he could earn more money than he could get at Tottenham, but it is just that he wants to realise his ambitions of playing for a top club.

'It is purely a footballing matter that he wants to leave.

'He hopes Wigan keep their word, after telling him last January when he signed a new deal, that they would not stand in his way if a big club came in for him.

'Pascal likes Paul Jewell and loves the Wigan supporters, but he just wants to fulfil his ambitions and he hopes the Wigan fans understand this.

'He arrives back on Sunday and we are planning to hold talks with Paul Jewell first thing on Monday to try and resolve the matter.

'We believe £3.5m is a fair price for Pascal after Wigan only paid £400,000 for him last year.'

It`s a good job that McKay wasn`t the agent for Wayne Rooney because he would have expected Everton to let him go for £50, after all they got him for nothing.

Have you heard the rumor that Chelsea is buying Freddy Adu and loaning him to your club for the 1st ½ of the season?

If 3.5m plus Reid and Murphy was turned down I think Wigan can keep Chimbo and Spurs need to look elsewhere, USA you are a complete pillock.

He is not worth £6 million so Tottenham are right to stick to their price.

Chimbo isn't worth 6 Million. He may be better than the rest of them but he is still not worth that sort of money. Spurs will have him soon.
