Roman Golobart Moves To Inverness CT On Loan

Wigan Athletic 19 year old Spanish defender Roman Golobart as joined Inverness CT in the SPL on loan until January, Inverness are of course managed by ex-Ipswich and England centre back Terry Butcher, so Golobart should really benefit from the move.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez is pleased that the youngster is going to gain some first team experience and stresses that Golobart will be a great ambassador for the club.

Martinez said: "He goes with all our good wishes, hopefully Roman will be able to gain some invaluable experience of playing first team football and in Terry Butcher he will have a hugely experienced coach who has played and managed at the highest level.

"I know he will be a great ambassador for the club and for himself."

Golobart signed for Latics from Spanish club Europa in July 2009, having initially been at Espanyol as a trainee. After impressing in the reserves, he was elevated to the first team squad earlier this year.

The loan officially ends on January 3 2012.

Should be a good experience, but he will need to get used to the cold!

I'd forgive him for wearing a baselayer and a pair of gloves up there that's for sure!

It be a great move for him just to get 1st team experience and to play against better teams, i see him coming back here for the fa cup, him to have a good game then to do what McCarthy did!
