Graham Barrow Delighted With Development Squad

Wigan Athletic Development Squad chalked up a great win away at Fulham on Tuesday in their first league game of the season.

Despite going a goal behind in the first minute of the game, Graham Barrows young charges fought back to win the match 3-1, two goals coming from Jordan Rugg and one from the penalty spot by Daniel Redmond gave the Latics a comprehensive victory.

Speaking after the game coach Graham Barrow was obviously delighted and said: 'We were very pleased at the manner in which the lads came back from a goal down, but in a way I feel we can improve still, which isn't a bad conclusion after a 3-1 win.

'The team effort and their overall performance was excellent though and I was delighted with what I saw.

'Pre-season has gone well and progressed the closer we got to the start of the season. Now we have a competitive squad at this level and a squad the size of which we've never seen at Wigan Athletic."
