Its Palace For The Latics

Its Palace For The Latics

Wigan Athletic will travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup after the Eagles beat Crawley Town 2-0 in their first round tie that was delayed due to the London troubles earlier this month.

Championship club Palace breezed past League Two side Crawley with a brace of goals from Wilfred Zaha, the 2nd round tie is due to be played on Tuesday 13th September with a 7:45pm kick-off and will see the return to South London for former Palace trio and current Latics stars Emmerson Boyce, Victor Moses and Ben Watson.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
