Latics Bid For City Man Vladimir Weiss

Latics Bid For City Man Vladimir Weiss

Vladimir Weiss has revealed that Wigan Athletic have made a bid to sign him from Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The Slovakia international midfielder is set to leave City before the end of this current transfer window and was strongly linked with a move to Dynamo Kiev with some sections of the media claiming that the 21 year old had already signed for the Ukrainian giants.

Weiss though has revealed that he hasn`t signed for anyone yet and that although Kiev are interested bids have also been submitted by the Latics and a Spanish club, Weiss said: 'One thing is for sure, I want to leave Manchester. It is not true that I am already a Dynamo player, as has been put in the media.'

'Wigan and a Spanish clubs are immensely interested'

'I believe my future will be resolved within hours.'

Signing for Manchester City in 2006 Weiss made just the one appearance for the Eastlands club, he played 13 games for Bolton on loan in 2010 and last season Weiss spent another period on loan, this time in the SPL with Rangers where he made 23 appearances scoring 5 goals. He also has 19 full international caps

I wish he would join Villa :( but it seems that we have no money. Weiss is very good prospect with best 1 on 1 technique/skill here in Slovakia. I wish him and you all the best and I feel you will like him. He only needs play time, self-confidence and patience. Do not jump on his back after few mistakes and you will see his full potential. You can see some of his skill here with solo vs. Johnny Evans against Northern Ireland (see the first goal) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiQwokDhE_g
