Meeting Some QPR Fans

Meeting Some QPR Fans

Vital Latics will be, throughout this season, getting the views of a 'few' of the opposition fans on Wigan Athletic, so with a visit to the DW Stadium coming up for last seasons Championship champions, Queens Park Rangers, it was time to meet some QPR fans.

So with seven simple questions posed let`s take a look at the responses:

1. How long have you supported QPR?
2. Who is your best player?
3. Who do you think is Wigan's best player?
4. What is your perception of Wigan Athletic?
5. What do you think the score will be?
6. What do you think will be your final league position?
7. What do you think will be Wigan's final league position?

Ashdown_Ranger
1. Around 30 years
2. Best - Taraabt on his day, otherwise Faurlin/Kenny
3. Don't really know, though I'd liked to have kept Watson
4. Perception - good, 'honest' club, great Chairman, loyal
5. 1-2 to us (hopeful), though I'd be happy with a point
6. If Warnock gets his targets 11-14, otherwise 16-18
7. One below us would be just fine!

DMD_QPR
1. Since 1973
2. Best - Taraabt, has real class, but can sulk when things don't go his way
3. Hugo Rodallega
4. Good club, well run, nice stadium, good manager and chairman
5. 1-1 would be happy with a point but think we could nick the win as well.
6. Above the bottom 3 and I would be very happy 7. I think that you will be in a relegation fight with us but you have shown year on year that you can survive

StJude76
1. 25 Years
2. Taarabt, great entertainer. Derry, great pro.
3. Mohamed Diame
4. Well run premier league team. Good manager.
5. 1-1
6. 15th
7. 14th

Superhoop50
1) Since 1967
2) For sheer talent, Taarabt.
3) You just sold him to Villa!
4) Done extremely well to get where they are and stay there, particularly in the shadows of the rugby club. Terrific and genuine Chairman and love the ground. They need to keep Martinez for sure.
5) 1-1 and I'll be driving there and back in a day!
6) Ask me after the transfer window! With the squad as it is today, we'll do well to survive.
7) Hard to say at this stage, but I also see a struggle. I hope they survive though, but not at our expense!
Good luck for the season.....after Saturday

LeeCookFan
1. 7-8 years being a QPR fan.
2. Derry seems to be our most consistant performer and was the only QPR player to make the step up to the premier league from the 1st minute of the 1st game.
Rodallega
The definition of the word survivors. You fight to the end of the season even when no one give you the respect you deserve. You play proper football no matter who you go up against and I love that. You have had managers I admire since Jewell and an owner we would love to have. I would love to see QPR replicate what Wigan have done since you`ve been in the premier league.
2-1 Wigan
18th (I hope it will be higher but our current squad can only get us so far)
17th - (I have had money on WIgan surviving for the last 6 years, dont let me down now)

QPR4Me
1. Into 44th year.
2. Best ever? Stan Bowles by a mile! Best current? On his day Taarabt, if not, Kenny!
3. Of your current players, I like McCarthy. He still needs to develop further.
4. A proper club. Dave Whelan has done a bloody good job. Still remember your lot as being the dominant force in the Northern League, all them years ago!
5. 0-1
6. 15th
7. Sadly, this season, bottom 3. Would love, and hope, that I'm wrong!

Gillard
1 over 35 years
2 probably soon to be signed! Tommy Smith is a class act and Derry steps up every time
3 Rodallega
4 Done well to hold their place, and a decent club with loyalty - Martinez staying said it all
5 bore draw I guess but we have to target a win
6 14th
7 16th

dzxvondrac
1. Since 1974
2. Akos Buzsaky as an all round talent. But I might say Joey Barton this time tomorrow!
3. I've always rated Victor Moses...but probably your best assets are your Chairman and Manager.
4. For a football team in a Rugby town they've done amazingly well.
5. 0-1
6. 15th would be nice.
7. Sorry, but 18th for me this season. Above Blackburn and Swansea.

M Os
1 Since 1965
2 Kenny - Taraabt when he's in the mood
3 Rodallega
4 Good family club. Great chairman, great manager, great fans.
5 1 nil either way
6 15th
7 14th

dustman
1 25 Years
2 - Taraabt when he's good but really rate Buzsaky
3 Rodallega
4 Proper family club. proper chairman, manager & fans.
5 1 -1 draw
6 16th
7 18th (but would like you to stay up but not at our expense)

getchaqpr
1. 53 years
2. Faurlin / Taraabt...........................from the past Mark Lazarus
3. Rodallega
4. A good family football club that has to struggle with a town , known for rugby .
5. 0 .... 3 Barton hat tick.
6. 9th........................Warnock magic and some more signings
7. To be honest don`t know.

Wow, thanks for the great response, for those coming up on Saturday have a safe and enjoyable trip, apart from the result that is

'The response to the perception of the the Latics was quite open and honest even though some QPR fans think it's more rugby than football in the town. But all in all, a good question and answer session.
