Wigan Athletic have signed 26 year-old defender Emmerson Boyce from Crystal Palace following a medical at Christopher Park this morning for a fee believed to be £1.5 million
Wigan beat both Charlton Athletic and Fulham to the signature of Boyce who joins former team mate Fitz Hall at the JJB Stadium on a four-year contract.
The signing increases the chance that Pascal Chimbonda will be sign for Tottenham Hotspur before the season starts given that we now have four right-backs on the Latics books. Spurs have reportedly offered Andy Reid, Danny Murphy and cash for Chimbonda, but Jewell will only accept players that he wants to sign and the total value of the deal must reach the £6 million valuation placed on Chimbonda by Jewell and Whelan.
