Wigan Athletic came up against an excellent Manchester City side yesterday, losing 3-0 in the process, but even though the scoreline was heavy in the favour of City the Latics can take some consolation that there were good performances all other the pitch
Ali Al-Habsi made several good saves, he stopped a Carlos Tevez penalty from going into the bottom corner and he wasn't at fault for any of the goals conceded.
The back four played reasonably well, Gary Caldwell being the pick of the bunch for me, he was constantly talking and organising those around him, he made some timely challenges and good clearances.
In the midfield James McArthur took advantage of a rare start and put in a good shift, he was busy trying to break down the City attacks and he tried to link with the Latics forwards when the opportunity arose.
Franco Di Santo and Hugo Rodallega both put themselves about and looked lively, Franco was unlucky with a couple of efforts whilst Hugo saw an effort spilt by City keeper Joe Hart and the ball just trickled the wrong side of the post and out for a corner, but my man of the match was Victor Moses, he caused the most problems for the City defenders, he was direct on the ball, busy all afternoon and on another day may have got some rewards for his good play.
So Moses for me but who was your Latics man of teh match at the Etihad Stadium? To participate in the vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and hit the submit button, it's that easy![]()
