PVA Man Of The Match v Everton

Patrick van Aanholt has been voted the Wigan Athletic man of the match for his performance in Saturdays defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

Making his Premier League debut for the Latics the young Dutchman, who is on a season long loan from Chelsea, had a very good game at left back, he was excellent on the ball, defended well and supported the attack when he had the opportunity to get forward down the left flank.

Late in the game van Aanholt had a great effort that was deflected narrowly wide, he showed a lot of promise and looks to be a great addition to the squad for the coming season.

For the record the voting was:

Patrick van Aanholt - 47%
Ali Al-Habsi - 18%
Franco Di Santo - 15%
