Meat and Potato - The Football Fans Favourite Pie

Meat and Potato is favourite pie filling for the footie supporter, well according to our last poll it is.

The half-time bite can be something of a ritual as far as football supporters the world over are concerned, pizza squares in the San Siro, L'Escargot at the Parc des Princes, Hot Dog and onions in the Amsterdam Arena or a Parma up at the Riverside Stadium, but mainly in the UK we indulge ourselves in the good old pie.

I, being a man of Wigan, have no hesitation in declaring my love of the pastry treat and I do declare a real liking for the Chicken Balti variety, but it would appear that I am in the minority with the great chompers of the football supporting world favouring the Meat and Potato as their ideal filling, followed by Steak and lastly, my choice, the Chicken Balti.

I sampled my first Chicken Balti pie on an away day at Luton back in 2002, October 26th to be precise, the time? 3:52 pm. Not that it made any sort of impression you understand!

Any way the result of the poll was:

Meat and Potato - 45%
Steak - 35%
Chicken Balti - 20%

The poll must have been fixed, Chicken Balti at a game every time, once sampled there is no going back

No that might be a reason why I like them sooooo much, to me they are a little bit exotic!
