Wigan Athletic welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the DW Stadium this weekend and history says that, indeed, despite a 3-0 win at the DW Stadium in recent times, games between the two sides have been generally tight.
Tottenham had a brilliant 4-0 win over the Reds last time out and will be full of confidence, as epitomised by their performance last weekend.
The problem for the Latics is the fact that the strike force is somewhat limited with the missing Hugo Rodallega. Franco Di Santo to be fair has been doing well and perhaps this is a chance for either Maloney or Crusat to occupy the front line alongside Franco.
Rob's Prediction
================
This is going to be a tight game for me and Spurs don't always travel well. However, I see them as a tough nut to crack and I think this game could be won by the odd goal.
Wigan 0 Tottenham 1
Rob's Other Predictions
=======================
Arsenal V Bolton - Arsenal have a real point to prove and how Wegner needs a tonic to help him through difficult times. Their loss at Blackburn was a shock result and now, they must bounce back against a Bolton side who themselves are in a poor vein of form. I think Arsenal will prove too strong for Bolton, despite their team deficiencies.
Arsenal 2 Bolton 0
Chelsea V Swansea - Chelsea haven't exactly been dynamic this season and they haven't scored goals for fun but I think that could change against Swansea. This will be a rout, I think. Sorry Swans fans.
Chelsea 4 Swansea 0
Liverpool V Wolves - I wouldn't want to be Mick McCarthy or Wolves travelling to the wounded animal. I see an easy victory for Liverpool at Anfield. Wolves won here last time out, but history repeating itself is too much of a stretch for me and I see Wolves struggling this year, despite their positive start to the season.
Liverpool 3 Wolves 0
Man City V Everton - Sergio Aguero is a joy to watch and behold as a footballer - a key piece of business by Roberto Mancini. He scores for fun and Everton have no strikers. Man City will want to bounce back from a disappointing draw at Fulham and I see them doing it comfortably.
Man City 3 Everton 0
Newcastle V Blackburn - Blackburn will be buoyed by their win over Arsenal and Newcastle have been a mixed bag thus far, which is why I think Blackburn's joy will be heightened by a win at St James' Park, which has proven to be a happy hunting ground in recent seasons.
Newcastle 1 Blackburn 2
Stoke V Man Utd - Stoke are a good side under Tony Pulis but Man Utd are like a team who have forgotten what its like to lose a football match at present. Stoke will put up a stern fight but Man Utd will prevail - by the odd goal.
Stoke 0 Man Utd 1
West Brom V Fulham - Roy Hodgson takes on his former club and the Hawthorns fortress looks like its in danger of seriously crumbling. However, Fulham are not good travellers and I see the home side taking a point out of a drab encounter.
West Brom 0 Fulham 0
Rob's Final Thought
