Vote For Your Latics Man Of The Match v Spurs

Latics 2-1 home defeat to Spurs was definitely a game of two halves, to say we were woeful in the first half would be putting it mildly, a couple of tactical changes at the break by Martinez and a substitution and we looked a totally different proposition for the second period.

Ronnie Stam injected a bit of pace and directness into the right flank, the midfield became a bit more competitive and Victor Moses started to run at the Spurs defence instead of looking to pass.

There were some truly uninspiring performances but also there were one or two players who came out with their heads held high, Victor Moses grew stronger as the game went on, he became a threat and if his final ball had been as good as his approach play then who knows. Momo Diame had a good game, he took his goal really well and he was busy all afternoon

My man of the match was Patrick van Aanholt, he looks to have really settled in at the Latics, another good game under his belt and he nearly stole the headlines right at the death when he found himself in space following a quick free kick, but unfortunately he couldn't get his shot away quickly enough.

So PVA for me, but who was your man of the match, to vote simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, it's that easy

i have to agree PVA 'stuck' to his task all game, he remained 'glued' up and down the left wing all game.

It has to be Diame surely? Without him we would have fell apart. PVA was outshone by Stam in the second half anyway

Latics v Brentford - Big Game Preview

Latics go into the game against Brentford hoping to build on the win away at Burton last Saturday, another three points this afternoon could see us lifted out of the bottom three come 5pm, what a change around that would be from the despair that we were all feeling as we came in to the new year.

The truth of the matter is that the team is too good to be stuck where it is in the league, we have enough quality in the ranks to be higher up the table, hopefully the last two games have shown t
