Steve Gohouri Devastated At Red

Wigan Athletic defender Steve Gohouri says he is devastated to have let his team mates down on Saturday when he was sent off for a second bookable offence just as the Latics were getting back into the game.

Trailing 2-0 to Spurs at the break a rejuvenated Wigan stormed back in the second half, a Momo Diame goal on 50 minutes looked like being the first part of the revival, but just 10 minutes later Gareth Bale broke down the Latics right and Gohouri lunged in catching Bale in full stride. The ref had no option but to issue Gohouri his second yellow of the game and the big Ivory Coast international was off for an early bath, leaving the Latics with an uphill struggle with just 10 men.

A dejected Gohouri spoke to the Wigan Evening Post, he said: "I am gutted, so devastated"

"That was the key moment in the game, because if we had kept 11 men we would have got a draw minimum and probably all three points.

"It was just one of those things. I thought I could get the ball, but I let the team down. And I know that."

Off you Gohouri

Lets hope Boycey is back for the weekend or we could be really struggling for defenders

yeh you could in the first half, but if he hadn't got sent off a draw was looking very likely at that point in the game
