Wigan Athletic had a bit of a torrid time in the month of September, four games played, four defeats, three of which came in the Premier League, the other at Crystal Palace saw the Latics knocked out of the Carling Cup

Although the defeats are very much a negative, a positive has come out of the month with the emergence of Patrick van Aanholt who has grown into his place in the first team.

The young defender is on a season long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea and already he looks to be a shrewd piece of business by Latics boss Roberto Martinez, he is definitely my player of the month for September, but who is yours?
