Lawro Predicts - Villa v Latics

Lawro Predicts - Villa v Latics

Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson has done his weekly round of Premier League predictions for the BBC, the Match of the Day pundit is forecasting that Saturdays clash between Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic at Villa Park will end in a home win, let's take a look at the reasons why he says that:

Aston Villa v Wigan

Aston Villa might not be playing particularly well yet this season but you can't argue with six matches unbeaten - and once you're on a run like that, the confidence starts flowing and the performances can improve.

The supporters seem to be accepting manager Alex McLeish following his arrival from city rivals Birmingham and they are really getting behind the team. So they should, too, after the start they've had.

Wigan, however, look like they have gone back to the bad old days. They are consistently inconsistent - not just between games but within games now - and that is their great problem.

They've also got injury concerns, but I don't think many people expected anything different from Wigan than what we've seen already this season; pretty at times, poor at times - it was always going to be thus.

Prediction: 2-0

I think Villa will be the draw specialists of the season under McLeish, too defensive by half, we have never lost a league game at Villa Park and I fully expect us to keep that record, 1-1 for me.

His predictions might be right but his reasons are really off the mark, disrespectful and obviously has no knowledge of Wigan.

Morning Guy's I think there is so much presure on the Villa to win this one (Far too many Draws) also we have most of our players back. This will be a home win not as easy as Lawro predicts perhaps, I am with a 1-0 or 2-1, could Zogie score the winner? COTVABU

I'd put my house on N'Zogbia scoring against us.
