Lawro Predicts - Latics v Bolton

Mark 'Lawro' Lawrenson has done his weekly round of Premier League predictions for the BBC, the Match of the Day pundit is forecasting that Saturdays local derby between Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers at the DW Stadium will end in a home win, let's take a look at his reasons:

Wigan v Bolton

Wigan are perennial relegation battlers and they will continue to miss the injured Hugo Rodallega up front but, the way Bolton are playing at the moment, you cannot see where their next point is coming from.

Wanderers' problems continued with that disastrous defensive display against Chelsea last time out. They are conceding barrow loads of goals and I think you can trace their shocking run back as far as their 5-0 defeat by Stoke in last season's FA Cup semi-final.

Confidence must be so low in the Bolton team at the moment and, for all the good work he has done previously, their manager Owen Coyle is under pressure because he is a Premier League manager and his side are bottom of the table, not just losing games but losing them heavily.

Coyle is not the type to panic and he will look for his side to play their way out of trouble but he will not be given forever to turn things around.

Bolton have a huge debt to service and they need to be a top flight club to do it. In the next month Coyle needs to win some games otherwise the board might decide it is time to make a change.

Prediction: 2-0

Same scoreline that I am going for, 2-0 Latics win
