Di Santo And McCarthy Hamstring Trouble

Franco Di Santo and James McCarthy were both surprise omissions from the squad that faced Newcastle on Saturday, there had been no word that either was suffering from injury during the build up to the game but it appears that both the youngsters have hamstring problems.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez confirmed that his young stars suffered from their injuries when he spoke to Latics Player

Speaking to the clubs official website Martinez said: 'Franco had a slight tear in his hamstring but we thought he was going to make it. James (McCarthy) has got a hamstring problem as well but we hope they will both back with us very soon.'
