Latics Getting Into The Community

Wigan Athletic players took an opportunity to get into the community this week with a visit to the Meadows Youth Centre

Latics skipper Gary Caldwell, midfielder Ben Watson and England Under 19's goalkeeper Lee Nicholls attended a community workshop and funday at the Meadows Youth Centre in Worsley Hall, Wigan where they signed autographs and posed for photographs.

The event was aimed at promoting safety around bonfire night and Halloween to young people in the area. The initiative was run in partnership with Wigan Fire service, Wigan Youth service, Young People's Drug and Alcohol Team (Hidden Harm), Positive Activities for Young People.

Caldwell said: "It's always a pleasure to help schemes like this in the local community. If our support can help, then we are more than happy to lend a hand."
