'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rob's Preview: Wigan V Fulham

Wigan have been on a terrible run of late, losing 7 games, including a disappointing Carling Cup exit to Crystal Palace football club.

Fans haven't been happy with the football and all they want is to smile again which isn't asking so much. However, Wigan have not been too bright at home of late, losing their last two.

However, Wigan have got virtually a full squad to choose from, thanks to the injury boost news for Franco Di Santo and James McCarthy, who are expected to play some role in today's game at the DW Stadium.

Fulham have been poor away from home, failing to find the net in three of their last four games and with Wigan's shyness in front of goal a worrying statistic, I can see this game petering out into a boring 0-0 goalless draw, but it could well be a point gained when all said and done.

Many have been calling for the manager's head of late but lets not forget we've been here before and survived so we need to get behind Roberto and hopefully, we'll be OK.

What is disappointing is that we don't seem to be progressing - yes we are a club that don't have much in ways of finance but neither do Everton, for example, yet they find themselves doing well season in, season out. They are an example to follow. We have a good team here. We just need to believe a bit more.

ROB'S PREDICTION

================

This one has goalless draw written all over it. Fulham have won just once in twelve visits to the D.W. Stadium and I suspect this is a game where Wigan can at least kick start a little revival.

Wigan 0 Fulham 0

ROB'S OTHER PREDICTIONS

=======================

Everton V Man Utd - Not sure I'd want to be Everton right now. United are looking for a response to their drubbing against Man City and although they conquered Aldershot, this will be equally as important to them to ensure they begin their climb up the table and keep in touch with Man City.

b> Everton 0 Man Utd 2

Chelsea V Arsenal - This has all the hallmarks of a cracker yet Wegner's side have been not overly convincing away from home. Chelsea also are looking for a response after a shock loss to QPR. I suspect a narrow home win.

b> Chelsea 1 Arsenal 0

Man City V Wolves - Wolves got smashed 5-2 by City earlier this week and the Etihad stadium is the last place where Wolves want to go right now.

b> Man City 5 Wolves 0

Norwich V Blackburn - This is a massive game for both sides. Blackburn are on a poor run of form and Norwich are riding high after a good draw at Anfield. I suspect though that Blackburn may just win this.

b>Norwich 0 Blackburn 1

Sunderland V Aston Villa - Sunderland are on a poor run of form and Villa are no pushover. Sunderland are a Jekyll and Hyde side really, much like ourselves. They had a good win at Bolton but Villa are a different kettle of fish. I think Villa may win.

b>Sunderland 0 Aston Villa 1

Swansea V Bolton - Swansea are yet to concede a goal at the Liberty Stadium this season which is quite impressive yet none of the big boys have come to town yet. Bolton are on a poor run of form and I think that Swansea will win this to give their survival hopes a massive boost for the season.

b>Swansea 1 Bolton 0

West Brom V Liverpool - This is a tasty game for Roy Hodgson - their good win at Villa will give them confidence but Liverpool are a tough side to beat and Hodgson will want to get one over on his old side again but West Brom's record against the reds isn't great at home. I suspect an away win.

b>West Brom 1 Liverpool 2

Tottenham V QPR - A feisty London derby if ever I saw one. QPR did Chelsea over last week and Tottenham need to be on their guard. I suspect a difficult game but ultimately fruitful one for Spurs.

b>Tottenham 2 QPR 1

Stoke City V Newcastle - Newcastle's unbeaten record came to an end at Blackburn last time out. Stoke is a notoriously difficult place to go. I think though it might be a draw.

b>Stoke 1 Newcastle 1

ROB'S FINAL THOUGHT

==================

A Win for Wigan is what we all want! Come on you lads! Huddersfield Town could do with a win as well to extend their unbeaten run to 41 games. They're closing in on Arsenal's all time record. Good luck to them today! They're away at Yeovil.

See you all next time for what is a massive game... Wolves V Wigan!
