What The Boss Said - Latics 0-2 Fulham

Following the Latics home defeat to Fulham, a very despondent and disappointed Roberto Martinez spoke about the emotion of losing a game that we had dominated

Speaking to the clubs official website Martinez said: 'The effort that the players put in deserved a different result.

'I'm sure that Fulham will be delighted with the result but, I'm sure that they'll be wondering how they got it because it was quite clearly a one sided game.

'The boys are really affected by the recent results and really down, I felt that they gave everything that they had today.

'It is very emotional when things don't go your way and you start to think, 'what will it take to score a goal?

'It is hard to take but that is the reality of football.'

'I feel that the squad is strong and that we will find the solution before the game against Wolves on Sunday.

'We will get ready for Wolves and we will get the first win that will allow us to start our season.

'What's quite clear is that this squad of players ready to take on the challenge and once we get the win that we deserve we can get rid of the negativity and we will be able to really start our season and have a good long run in the league.'
