Alcaraz Set For Further Punishment By The Latics



Wigan Athletic have announced that they will punish defender Antolin Alcaraz after the Paraguay international accepted the FA's decision to issue a three match ban for his charge of misconduct in last weekends game at Wolves.

Alcaraz was caught on camera spitting at Wolves defender Richard Stearman in the closing stages of the game and now Latics boss Roberto Martinez has also come down heavy on his stand-in skipper with the club issuing a statement saying that 'the matter will be treated with utmost seriousness', the 29 year old can expect a heavy fine under the Latics code of conduct and a severe reprimand from his boss.

The club statement say's :'Wigan Athletic have announced that Paraguay defender Antolin Alcaraz has accepted the FA's misconduct charge for spitting following the incident at the end of Sunday's Barclays Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which carries an automatic three match ban.

The matter will be treated with utmost seriousness and be dealt with internally, according to the club's code of conduct.'

I assume David Whelan - never slow off the mark nor shy of speaking his mind about all things he judges bad about the game - will likely have strong views on Alcaraz? Come on then, rentagob.
