JJB goes non-smoking

JJB goes non-smoking

All Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors matches at The JJB Stadium will be completely non-smoking in both the seating areas and on the concourse from the next home game against the Addicks on the 17th of December.

Quotes from the official site

Dave Whelan

'I think that it will improve the overall comfort of the majority of the public coming to the JJB. The concourse areas become very smoky when there are several thousand people in each stand, which is a problem which affects most major sporting venues. We feel this is a very important issue and it has now been addressed. The safety and comfort of our customers is of paramount importance to myself, Brenda and everyone at the club. I am sure this move will be welcomed by the majority of people attending events at the stadium.'

Brenda Spencer

'In line with many other Premiership clubs who have taken similar steps, and in the interests of the comfort and health and safety of all the fans who come to watch football at the JJB, we have decided to make the stadium no-smoking. We are confident that most people will support the idea.

'There have been a number of complaints from members of the public about the smoke in the concourse areas during matches and we feel this is the right move forwards.'
