Meeting A West Brom Fan

Meeting A West Brom Fan

With the Latics set to face West Bromwich Albion in a tough encounter at the Hawthorns this Saturday, I grabbed a few words with Baggies fan and Vital West Brom editor Baggy Boy.

1. How long have you supported West Brom?

It feels like too long at some points but I've been lucky enough to have a good few highs in my tender years! In fact I think I'll shy away from this answer as I don't want people to work out how old I am. I like the idea of people thinking I'm wise beyond my years :-)

2. Who is your best player?

There's quite a few names you'll be familiar with, but on current form it's hard to argue anybody but Shane Long. He's fitted right in and found his feet perfectly in the team and he's clearly our best goal threat at the moment.

3. Who do you think is Wigan's best player?

For me it would have to be Al Habsi, then Rodallega but he seems to be out of favour recently. I'd be interested in seeing how Moses develops to be honest, there was a lot of hype around him and I think he has the grounding to become a very important player for you in the years to come.

4. What is your perception of Wigan Athletic?

A tough and difficult side to beat has been my experience. We didn't get much luck from you last season and I'm expecting a tough encounter again this time round.

5. What do you think the score on Saturday will be?

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2-2 being honest, but I'm hoping we nick it as we need to start getting more 3 points on the board.

6. What do you think will be your final league position?

I can see us finishing around the 10-12 places really. We've been playing pretty well for the most part but we just haven't been picking up the points regularly enough for me to be confident about a top half finish, but we'd more than take that being honest.

7. What do you think will be Wigan's final league position?

Doesn't look good at the moment does it, that said we're only two games off you ourselves. I think it's still too early to say you are going to be bottom 3, but if you don't start picking points up soon - at this moment you have to be a favourite to go down sadly.
