Wigan Athletic Spread A Little Christmas Cheer
Wigan Athletic staff and players have been bearing gifts this past week as they spread a little cheer to children across Wigan Met.
The entire Latics squad, along with manager Roberto Martinez, was out this week handing out Christmas presents in the borough, bought by the players themselves, along with the club; the visits were to Rainbow Children`s ward at the Royal Albert Infirmary, Hope School and Willow Groove primary school in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Skipper Gary Caldwell said: "This is one of the best days of the year, when we can make a small difference to people`s lives in the town. It`s a privilege to be able to go and meet the children and the smiles on the faces say everything. As a squad, we also need to congratulate the staff at these places, who are truly wonderful people."
