What The Boss Say's - Manchester United v Latics

Wigan Athletic travel a short distance down the East Lanc's Road this afternoon, to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in a Boxing Day fixture hoping to put in a cracker of a performance and leave Fergies boys looking like real turkey's

In the build up to the game, Latics boss Roberto Martinez has been speaking our recent run of form and today's game, lets take a look at what he's been saying:

'The last two performances have been of a very high standard and now the most important thing to make sure we get the preparation for Manchester United just right'

'If we can continue showing the same levels as we did against Chelsea and Liverpool then we can start relying on our momentum and confidence to compete.

'The team is ready to repeat that effort now, and if you're going to take on a team like Manchester United you have to be at your best, especially away from home."

'Firstly we have to defend well; they have real attacking flair and quality up-front as well as being a very strong unit.

'When they lose the ball they reduce the spaces very quickly and make it difficult to play against them.

'Players like Valencia, Nani, Rooney and Berbatov show the talent Sir Alex Ferguson has in his squad and the list goes on beyond those names.

'So lots for us to be ready for but at the same time we need to realise that we're in a good moment ourselves and the next challenge for us lies in continuing our recent performances away from home.'
