Roberto Martinez - New Signings Required

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez says he wants some new faces coming in before the transfer window shuts.

Following the Latics defeat against relegation rivals QPR the boss says that the squad needs freshening up and he wants to bring in some characters to help with the battle ahead over the next 16 games, speaking to Sky Sports Martinez said:'Today it was a clear sign we couldn't cope with the two injuries we had Alcaraz and Crusat'

'It is quite clear we need to help the players with a couple of fresh players. It is more important than the positions the characters we get and they come in and give us a real help.

'Every point is going to be huge and every small margin is going to be important.'

'We were disappointing individually'

'We need to understand in the next 16 games in a typical relegation scrap you need to fight and find that understanding needed to affect a game."

A miracle is what we need. Sorry, but I think the writing's on the wall already. I do hope I'm wrong, I really do, but I don't care, because I'm behind Latics thick and thin.

I don't care if we have already relegated as it won't change my love on Wigan Athletic but what I want is fight until the end. Yesterday performance is just simply embarrassing and I don't want to see this kind of commitment-less performance anymore, no way.
